Vanguardist V Grenache 2024

A single-site Grenache from Blewitt Springs in McLaren Vale, this is Vanguardist’s tenth release from the historic Rende Vineyard, capturing both place and precision in equal measure.

The nose and palate are defined by red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, layered with subtle spice and a faint mineral edge. There’s brightness through the fruit, supported by fine, silky tannins and a lifted acidity that keeps everything moving.

Made with a high proportion of whole-bunch fermentation and matured in large Slavonian oak foudre, the style is elegant, structured and distinctly site-driven rather than winemaking-led.

Best served with lamb shoulder, duck, or chargrilled Mediterranean vegetables.
