The 2024 Spinifex Riesling comes from their meticulously managed Rostein Vineyard in Eden Valley’s Flaxman Valley, where vines planted in 1956 produce fruit of incredible intensity and character.
The vineyard, perched at 475 to 495 metres above sea level, is dry-grown on lean granitic soils that naturally limit yields to less than a tonne per acre. Hand-picked fruit is crushed and pressed, with fermentation split between stainless steel tanks and seasoned 1000-litre foudres to balance freshness with texture. To retain the wine’s vibrant purity, there’s no malolactic fermentation, and it spends just four months on lees before blending.
